Revival 2012

This week we had a three night revival. And for once I truly felt as if it were a true revival. You know, everyone was actually revived. Our strengths were renewed. All I know is that we had some awesome services and God really moved.

Pastor Trevino was down here again (since he comes down two times a year). And two other pastors came also. Bro. Nix from Arizona (I think), and Bro. Gaines from Indiana.

We had a little "session" for the youth.
I was all against having a youth service. I was like, "Dad, I don't want to be embarrassed." LOL. I mean, it's not that we don't have a few good kids, but, you know, most young people just don't want to live for God nowadays.

Bro. Gaines did the teaching. It was really good.
Then we had service.
(Sorry for the blurry pictures, but for some reason my camera takes terrible pictures inside the church.)

Lorenzo got to sing his special songs. He did a very good job. I was proud.
I also sang, but as we all know, I don't have a single picture of myself singing because I am the one taking the pictures. It makes me sad to think that I will never have a picture as evidence that, yes, I did actually try to help out in Mexico by singing. Haha. Oh well, I guess God knows, right?

Bro. Nix sang a beautiful song (that I had never heard before).

And he did a tremendous job preaching. I honestly can't tell you the titles of his messages, but all three nights the messages just hit home.

People flocked to the altar.

My little (okay, he's not so little anymore) brother praying.

Carlos praying at the altar. This kid ... always moves my heart. I think that, even though he usually looks like a stone, one day God is going to touch his life in a special way.

Hna. Paula received the Holy Ghost. We were all so excited to see her finally "get it"! She has been seeking the Holy Ghost for the past three years. The smile on her face afterwards was just priceless. There's nothing quite like a smile that comes from the heart after you feel the joy of the Holy Ghost.

The second day Pastor Trevino taught the ministers.
These are the ministers. No, not all of them preach, but most of them claim to feel a calling from God.

They had a good time. The teaching really helped them.

Hno. Gabriel singing at altar call. He's one of the ministers (that I can definitely see being a pastor someday). He's like my dad's unofficial assistant pastor.
Pastor Trevino got on the drums since my brother was praying.
Hna. Miriam praying with another Sister.
Bro. Gaines.

Elder Missionary Wakefield came over to Toluca the last night. Everybody in our church loves Bro. Wakefield. I was talking to one of the guys after church and he said, "I really like Bro. Wakefield. He always speaks so passionately." Then he said, "When I grow up I want to be just like him."

Sis. Wakefield also came, and Bro. Mario and his family (from the Wakefields' church), but, alas, I did not get a picture of them. I am so bad about taking pictures. :/

Bro. Nix preached again the last night. He never even got to finish his message though. He was preaching about the paralyzed man in the Bible who's friends took him to see Jesus, and they tore apart the roof to lower him down in front of Jesus. And Jesus healed him because of their faith.
Nicolas got up and ran to the altar with his arms held high. He wanted the Holy Ghost.
Unfortunately, he didn't receive it. But it sort of caused everyone else to rise out of their seats in faith.

Everyone crowded into the altar again.

And Abraham received the Holy Ghost back in his pew. Again, we were all excited that he, too, had finally received it. He had been seeking it for about two years.

This visitor also received the Holy Ghost. Who knows if he'll be back, but I hope so. There are so many people in Toluca that God wants to save, if only they would let Him.

There's really no words to express how I felt after seeing three people receive the Holy Ghost. I can't tell you how discouraged I have been lately because it just seemed like nothing was happening and our church wasn't moving forward. Every time we went to church I would pray, "Lord, move in this place. Let your Spirit touch each and every person here. Fill everyone with the Holy Ghost." I prayed this over and over (and I'm still praying it), but it just seemed like nothing was changing. And, so, to see people who have been seeking the Holy Ghost finally break through ... it just lifted my spirit. I realized that God hasn't abandoned us. He's just working on us, putting us through the fire so that we can come out as pure gold. And as my wise mum always reminds me, "God's time is perfect." Things may not always happen when we want them to, but He sees us and our desires. We just have to wait for His perfect timing.

After church I took pictures with a few people.
Lezli, Me, Armando, Daniel, and Gamaliel.

Me and Gaby.

Me and two beautiful girls from our church, Miriam and Cynthia.

Me and Carlos.

Jacob, Carlos, and Juan.

After church the Caltzontzin family had a dinner prepared for the whole church.

Some of the youth.

The preachers. This is the picture where I thought I had gotten my mum and Sis. Wakefield, but it turns out that they are both hidden by their husbands' heads. :D

Pastor Trevino, Bro. Gaines, Elder Wakefield, Pastor Daddy Loa, and Bro. Nix.

Me and Bethany Wakefield (sorry for the red eyes)! I actually enjoyed talking to Bethany this time around. Usually I am too shy to say anything. But she just comes over (before church while I am sitting in the car) and gets in the car and starts talking! I was like, "I ... must ... talk. I ... can't ... be ... shy!"
And I overcame my shyness. I had fun. It's always nice to be around fellow Americans who speak English.

And here's the last picture. It's me and Tania. She used to be my best friend when we first moved to Mexico.

All in all, this was a very good week. I got my blessing and I think everyone else did too. Now I am looking forward to the rest of this year with even more gusto. I know that God can do even more than He did this week. And I know that He will. As I always tell Lupita (and she laughs), "I can feel it in my bones!"

Peace and Love to you all.

P.S. To all of you people who think that I'm not going to blog anymore (just because I haven't blogged in about fifty weeks), C'MON! You really think I'd give this up?! NOOOOO! This is my addiction! LOL!

Bethany, I had an awesome time too. It had been forever since I had talked to an American in English!!! And plus, like you said, we are both missionary's daughters so we can totally understand each other.

Surely we shall see each other again soon. If not, I'll see you in heaven! HAHAHA! Jk ... Well, at least I hope we don't die that soon! :D
